I'm Happy to find a new bee forum. I live in the foothills below Yosemite National Park. I am a newbee with 2 top bar hives. I caught a swarm the same day my package arrived in mid April. Both are doing great. I have learned so much in these last couple of months and been stung a few times also. We are experiencing a terrible drought and dearth at present. I am a avid herb and native plant grower and am very interested in establishing many plants to create as close to a year round bloom as possible.

A little of both I suppose. Zone 8b We are below the pines and have very large old valley oaks, willows, black poplar, annual grass's and numerous wildflowers in the spring ,. Summers are very dry with many day's around 100 and winters can get to 17 degrees with a little snow about every 3 years.

Hi! I'm Nick from Sheffield, England. I'm part of a voluntary growing project, and we've been keeping bees for a couple of years now. After a really weird year weather-wise last year, our hives this year seem to be going from strength to strength! We have six National hives plus three nukes that we'll be moving up to full hives in the coming weeks. All great fun!
