I want to introduce a few queens to some splits. the queens are from my castle. I have a few cages but no candy. what can I use? thank you |

mix about 5 table spoons of icing sugar (not icing mix, this has cornflour and will block your bees up and kill them) and mix about 1 table spoon of honey until it is almost a hard block. either put in the microwave for 10 seconds, or leave out in the sun for a bit, and mix it again, until it is a candy block. You will need to warm it to use it, and get it into your cages, but it works a treat, and will last for almost a whole season, if you want to keep it on hand for emergencies.
