Which isn't so sunny today, at least not in my neck of the woods! I have been keeping mason bees, but just forayed into honeybees this year. I got my first package early April, and on my last inspection (last weekend), they had three of the eight frames full of comb, so they are doing their best to make their hive a happy home. I have an eight-frame Langstroth hive. I also have a Warre hive, currently sitting unassembled in a box. My hope is to get it put together by this fall, then to introduce a second family of bees into it next spring. If I am *very* lucky, I hope that the second family will be from a swarm of feral bees. I have one bait box out and am planning on putting a few more out, with the intention of convincing at least one wandering scout bee that I can be a good landlord.
